Mar 4, 2015, Nilai (Negeri Sembilan) – INTI International University and Colleges has announced their strategic collaboration with LinkedIn, one of the world’s leading professional networks.
Established in 1986, INTI currently has 6 campuses all over Malaysia with over 15,000 students. Its campuses are in Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, and Sabah.
LinkedIn is one of the largest online professional networks with more than 347 million members in over 200 countries worldwide. 39 million of these members are students and recent college graduates, which is the website’s fastest-growing demographic.
This collaboration was in efforts to teach graduates to be fully prepared for working life by showing them ways to promote themselves online in hopes of attracting their dream employers.
Recently appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of INTI International University and Colleges, Rohit Sharma spoke about the collaboration.
He said:
“We believe that by collaborating with LinkedIn, our students are given the opportunity to be professionally prepared and equipped with the right tools prior to entering the workforce.”
He also expressed the importance of capitalising on current technology in order to help bring students closer to their prospective employees through highlighting their skills, talents, and qualifications.
The collaboration was launched in the form of a workshop among INTI students at the Subang Jaya campus and was also live streamed among INTI’s other campuses so all its students could benefit.
A sharing session conducted by Feon Ang, Director of LinkedIn’s Talent Solutions, APAC (Asia-Pacific), which was entitled “Leading With Your Own Voice” was also held at INTI’s Nilai campus. This session addressed different, alternative ways in approaching leadership and ways to harness their confidence when taking on the role of a leader.
Feon Ang elaborated on the partnership by saying:
“LinkedIn is excited to collaborate with INTI, an institution that shares our belief, particularly in connecting talent with opportunities. We believe our collaboration will go a long way in helping students at INTI find their dream jobs by leveraging this powerful networking tool to connect with industry professionals, enhance their visibility in the competitive job space and access jobs either in or outside Malaysia.”
Ang also went on to elaborate on the other programmes they offered to INTI’s students such as workshops that help them make their LinkedIn profiles appear more impressive, as most students may not feel like they have good enough credentials to feature on their profiles.
This collaboration will be beneficial to university students in their efforts to find a first job that is a perfect match for them, and also help them advance in their careers.
