Dr John Frederick Demartini grew up with learning challenges as a child and lived in the streets as a teenager. However, those experiences did not deter him from rising above his circumstances to where he is today, i.e. a human behavioural specialist, educator and international author.

Having only started reading when he was 18, he has been reading a lot since. Today, his trademarked methodologies, the Demartini Method and the Demartini Value Determination, are the culmination of 44 years of cross-disciplinary research and study.

The Leaderonomics Show host and Leaderonomics CEO Roshan Thiran caught up with Demartini recently during the National Achievers Congress 2017 by Success Resources to learn more about his personal leadership journey thus far.

Here are some key takeaways from the interview:

  • There is a giant within all of us waiting to be tapped and released to do extraordinary things.
  • Reflect and truly know what we value in life. This natural intrinsic value system is what makes us wake up daily to do that very thing we love to do.
  • Stop comparing yourself with other people’s dreams and values. Use your own intrinsic values to chase your own dreams.
  • Don’t try to be like somebody else. Just be true to yourself.
