Be A Leader: Living A Leadership Legacy

John C. Maxwell once quoted:

“A leader’s lasting value is measured by succession.”

People do not remember us for what we do for ourselves but for what we do for them. No one remembers what numbers you closed for each of the quarters you were in charge.

They do remember your leadership, service, character and inspiration. Hence, your legacy is more dependent on what you give today, then what you take.

What you can do is:

  1. Know what matters in growing an assertive and healthy workforce.
  2. Get off the front line to listen and understand your people.
  3. Recycle and reinforce a culture of non-negotiables especially when it comes to key results.
  4. Be generous by providing knowledge and expertise to develop others.

Are you leaving a legacy for those who succeed you?
