Terrific Thursday Tails: Quokka

This nocturnal marsupial made its round when it was deemed ‘the happiest animal in the world’ not too long ago. Some pronounce it kwah-ka (rhymes with “wokka wokka”) and some as kwo-ka (rhymes with “mocha”). They are the only land mammal on Rottnest Island, Western Australia.

Quokkas have adapted themselves so well to human presence that they have been notoriously ‘raiding’ homes to help themselves to late-night snacks. They also have been reportedly inviting themselves into restaurants and cafés.

Perhaps quokkas know they can get away with many things with that super cute look when confronted by humans. Not forgetting, those innocent smiles!

As petite and adorable as they are, these smiley little guys are actually fierce and fearless. When threatened, they are more than ready to defend themselves with their vicious claws.

Leadership lesson

One of our Leaderonomics cultural beliefs is ‘Be Agile’. Great leaders are agile and adaptable to organisational changes. They are proactive and resourceful in order to stay relevant in business environment.

At the same time, they remain pleasant, but are not afraid to stand their ground when their values are challenged.
