Daniel Lee was born with Type I Osteogenesis Imperfecta. In other words, he has a rare condition whereby his bones are very brittle and would fracture very easily. Daniel’s condition meant that he could not be like the rest of the children his age.

Though wheelchair-bound due to suffering numerous fractures throughout his life, he has always been an active person and desired to involve himself in sports. In 2012, he participated in his inaugural running event and completed a 10km run on his wheelchair. He continued to go further and participated in longer distances in time to come, taking on 21km and 42km full marathons.

He is motivational speaker and hopes to use the lessons he’s learnt in his marathons to help others overcome their challenges in life. He hopes to inspire people to overcome their perceived limitations and fears to live a life with hope and purpose. He believes that by changing one life at a time, we can change the world.

Daniel is now embarking on a journey to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in the sport of wheelchair racing. A small contribution goes a long way.
